January 2011 Schoolhouse Quilters

First glimpse of Jenn's quilt top--I just saw the "almost"completed project yesterday. It just needs to have the binding tacked down. Laurel did a beautiful job with the quilting. I need to get all the "particulars" on who did what, but the group effort was of "star quality." Thank you so much for helping out!

Happy 2011!!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and the new year is off to a great start for you and yours. The year has started off with me running, but I'm enjoying trying to juggle all the balls without dropping too many of them. I think life is just that, and why not enjoy the moment?

When did we last meet? Was it in October??? I think so. We ended up canceling November's and December's meetings. If it makes you feel any better, I still haven't updated the website---had every intention but it just hasn't been done. I will do it tomorrow!!! I hate loose ends in life and on my fabrics.

I look forward to seeing all of you next week. Here is the plan:

When: Wed., January 12, 2011, 4:30-6:00 pm

Where:
Cyndee's home

What:
Let's celebrate the new year with food and fabric! We'll exchange those charms packs made from our stashes that we were going to do in December. Each charm pack needs to contain 10 charm squares (5" x 5" squares). Put the pack in a baggie. Bring as many charm packs as you would like to exchange. In theory, you'll go home with as many charm packs as you bring. Please do not use your "ugly/yucky" fabrics for this exchange. We may do that in AprilBe right back. If you don't have time to do a charm pack, come anyways. It certainly isn't a requirement, but just a fun idea to get us thinking about fabrics. Also, if you have a pattern you like using charms, please bring it, too. Don't forget your show-n-tell!

I'm planning on having a potato bar and salad. Please bring your own beverage of choice.

I'm excited to see all of you! Please RSVP by email by Tuesday, Jan. 11, so I can have enough potatoes and such.

Happy new year and happy sewing!
Cyndee
